Courts along Route 1 from Freeport and Brunswick up through the Boothbay peninsula to Belfast on Penobscot Bay. Brunswick has two pins, and the Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor courts are less than a mile apart, so check both before you drive.

Lake-country courts around Sebago Lake and the lakes to its north and west, out to Andover in the western mountains. One of the two Naples pins is tagged private in OpenStreetMap, and Frye Island is a seasonal island community reached by ferry, so confirm access first.

Central Maine

A few pins in our Maine data are just outside the state. The Portsmouth, Dover, Durham and Lee pins sit on the New Hampshire Seacoast, a short drive from Kittery and York. The Saint-Georges pin is in Quebec's Beauce region, and the Madawaska pin is on the St. John Valley border with New Brunswick. We keep them because OpenStreetMap tags them this way, but they are not counted in the regions above.

When can you play outdoors in Maine?
Every Maine court in our data is an outdoor court, so the season matters more here than in most states. Outdoor play usually runs from late spring into the fall. Before you drive out early or late in the year, check that the net is up and the surface is clear.
In autumn the main problems are wet leaves and early darkness. Leaves on an acrylic surface get slippery, so sweep the court before you start a game, and check whether the court has lights. Our data only marks lights where OpenStreetMap records them. After a freeze, cracked or heaved asphalt is common on older town courts, so look the surface over before you play.
Indoor pickleball in Maine in winter
Indoor courts are the main gap in our Maine map. Winter play happens mostly in school gyms, YMCAs, community and recreation centers, and a few private clubs. These places are often not tagged as pickleball courts in OpenStreetMap, so they may not show up here.
