Double bounce rule - still confused

After the serve, both the return AND the third shot must bounce before being hit.

So: serve bounces, return bounces, THEN you can start volleying.

It prevents the serving team from rushing the net immediately.

Easy way to remember: "serve, bounce, return, bounce, then anything goes."

After those two bounces, players can volley or let balls bounce - their choice.
